For those who know me, I do locally. Eat with the locals, and stay with local people, and certainly take public transport with the locals. But the funny thing to do in a foreign country, is that you can ask the same question about how to get something, and what is the best 10 times and get 12 different answers. But today we were determined to get Batu Caves outside of KL ... (Thats what they call Kuala Lumpur But Maureen and I love how it seems so thats is how we say it) the way by local bus 2Ringits ... only ... about 60 cents. We would not even think about giving up our quest and take a bus with all the rich people. We've seen some come out of their mini-bus by telling the driver to do work to keep the cold air for them when they come back, no matter how much it costs .... pleasant sense of adventure .... So after a little time to lose, we took the local bus 11, and we were the only tourists on the bus .... yeah!
The Batu Caves are amazing, incredible, like I've never seen me in the Batu Caves

. For those of you not familiar with them, you do a Google search. They are 272 steps leading to the cave, which is a world famous Hindu temple. A cool bonus is that the place is swarming with hundreds of monkeys! Apes, monkeys, baby,,, and they are not shy. They are just all the steps and into the trees and they will come up to you to see if you made them any treats. Well, I love my monkeys, we stopped to get some peanuts and bananas .... OKAY! For you animal lovers out there, I love animals too and I know you should not feed wild animals, it only encourages just the man not make them fend for themselves ... but they are so cute and fun ,,,,,, to let go.
Maureen has no experience with monkeys and they were all over it. I thought the monkey expert since I'm around them in Cambodia and Thailand, but I was equally amateur, and they were essentially we follow the steps once they realized that we had food. One fact stood up and went into my bag and took the rest of the bushel of bananas I had once I gave him one. It may seem strange, but I am freaked out when it happened! He entertained people if the country, and they got a good laugh at me.
We missed the traditional Hindu festival that was the beginning of February when thousands of worshipers 100.00 attend a ceremony in the caves and part of the celebration is a mutilation of their bodies by piercing themselves several times and suspended various objects themselves. Wow, this would have been interesting.
The caves are huge and full of beautiful light and it is a place very spiritual, even with the crazy monkeys jumping in your belongings. This was the first day of being a hot small staircase stairs batu caves in Batu Caves
. I was sworn never to say: "Boy, its really hot outside ... "Maureen has permission to hit me in the arm when I say that (for those of you who know Maureen, you know she would not be fair, even do, even if it was ordered to do so) Since I have 0 degrees in Chicago, I'm never allowed to say I'm hot, I stood by the train stopped for him at 5 o'clock morning and it was minus 20 degrees and my face and feet were completely numb, no more than a week, and I made that oath.
Kuala Lumpur is not an easy city to get around, and streets twist and turn until you're basically never goes in a straight line direction. Maureen has a good sense of guidance for those who know me, I usually do not and some are surprised that I found my way foreign quote so well on my own. But we managed not too lost.
Local people in Malaysia are soooo nice, we met Two other Americans, and there are few tourists sound at all. The food has such a variety, a lot of Indian food that I love coffee and Kopi, who comes already sweetened with milk, in fact, thats how all coffee and tea comes. We ate at local street vendors for virtually all meals, and we feel good!
Maureen has been a difficult day with his spaceship circles all over her shoulders and back. She feels very badly about his "therapeutic" massage and I hope people do not think I am a friend that I was mean and hurt him.
Tomorrow we fly to an island very top of Malaysia called Langkawi. He is known for the location of the movie "Anna and the King" with Jodie Foster, a few years back. Suppose that to be truly amazing with beautiful beaches ... Ive heard quite a few jellyfish in the waters of the ocean if .... Its okay. I also heard they were really small jellyfish and they barely hurt.

Question on vacation in Chicago for you to Chicago or former residents of Chicago ... please read ...?
You have a advantageous rates to Blake $ 625 for 4 nights with free parking (we have rental cars). Make two children and the hotel did not sounds like the pool and free breakfast is minimal. Thinking of booking by Midway place (one with pool) and taking the train from downtown to the two days we planned to visit the city (taking Gray Line tour bus). For would stay at the hotel, take the hotel shuttle to the airport downtown and take the train. Do you play with public transport is worth the hassle or should we stay at Blake and treat without a pool and do nothing to see a day together, while her husband, son and is at a Cubs game. What is the best way to get to Wrigley to be? Would love some help with that!
Hello .. I had some friends stay at the hotel complex by Midway last spring and found it very easy to get around the city here. The hotel offers a shuttle to the station on the Orange Line and the rest was fairly easy to navigate. The cost of being far from the city center is also much cheaper for the hotel rooms as well. I think there are 9 hotels there and I'll post a link below. About go to Wrigley, take the Orange Line from mid-way through the Roosevelt Road station and follow the crowd of Cubs fans further down the Red Line station. From there, take Red Line train headed to Howard St and exit at Addison. Wrigley Field is a short block. As a suggestion, the day they are playing, take the ride by train to the center and venture out on your own. You could get one of downtown museums, the lake, Millennium Park, shopping in downtown, boat trips Windeler, etc. straight off the orange line. And as the orange line is overhead, you can easily view the tracks anywhere in the city center. In addition, it moves one way through downtown, making a circle before returning to the airport. So there is no questions about getting in the wrong direction. I have attached a CTA map below also shows that the attractions of downtown and near railway lines .. Have fun ... and enjoy the city! http://www.midwayhotelcenter.com/why_midway/index.cfm http://www.transitchicago.com/assets/1/brochures/downtown_sightseeing_guide.pdf
